GetGenome meets TSL MSc students
James Canham recently shared his experience of starting and running GetGenome with the MSc in Global Plant Health students at The Sainsbury Laboratory. In his talk, he captured the key steps to building an enterprise from the ground up, from concept to registration to the day-to-day.
GetGenome's mission is to train and educate the next generation of life scientists and entrepreneurs and to provide equitable access to these provisions. To achieve this, the charity engages with early career researchers, aiming to empower by illustrating the transformative power of genomics and promote its democratisation. We hope that by overcoming inequality and improving capacity within our community, we can play a role in facilitating global life science research.
As the academic year draws to a close, the students have been recognised for their hard work over the past year, and GetGenome wishes them all the best as they move on to the next exciting stage in their studies. They have the potential to drive positive change and innovation in the years to come and make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. We are in good hands!
